Under Construction

I am an ardent advocate for the positive role leaders can exhibit in any position throughout an organization to assist a company to grow and thrive. An excellent road map for leadership can be found in the principles espoused by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner in their collaboration in authoring The Leadership Challenge.

In the book the authors provide five guiding practices of leadership that are 1) Challenging the process 2) Inspiring a shared vision 3) Enabling others to act 4) Modeling the way, and 5) Encouraging the heart

I am a fan of promoting the servant style of leadership where the servant-leader shares power and tends to put the needs of employees at or near the top. The strategy of employee focus where the leader serves the employee verse the other way around helps with individual growth and ultimately fosters improved company growth.

It is exciting leading an organization and strive toward transformational leadership by investing in employees to assist them in performing above their perceived ceiling.

As personal growth transpires the leader must often adapt to the new employee norm or skill set to further cultivate ongoing growth. As competency and commitment levels vary so must the coaching of those in leadership.

During my career, I have been blessed to represent the banking industry as an advocate at the state and federal levels as an expert witness, volunteer banker, and trade association executive.
